Most Volatile Runners: SIRIUS XM Radio Inc. (NASDAQ:SIRI) and Tesla Motors Inc. (NASDAQ:TSLA)

America’s oldest car firm, Ford Motor Co. (F), and its youngest, Tesla Motors Inc. (NASDAQ:TSLA), both hit 100-week highs on Tuesday, the recent in a long list of signs all indicating the same thing: the US vehicle industry is hot.

Ford, created 110 years ago, ended at $16.84, supported by a US auto market on line for its best year since 2007.

Ten-year-old Tesla, which manufactures $69,900 electric sedans, is moving into the Nasdaq-100 Index, three years following its market start.

General Motors Co. (GM), which rose from bankruptcy four years ago today, moved again into the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index last month.

Satellite radio firm, SIRIUS XM Radio Inc. (NASDAQ:SIRI), has moved beyond the 25 million subscriber base, with a record net inclusion of 715,000 customers for the second quarter of this year. While the firm’s former best figure was 622,042 customer additions in the second quarter of fiscal 2012.

Such fine growth in subscribers is mostly credited to hiked automobile sales and the continued release of innovative products.
