Lions Gate Entertainment Corp. (USA) (NYSE:LGF) shares closed higher in the last trading session on Friday, after the company announced better than expected financial results for fiscal 2013, mainly due to strong performances throughout its home entertainment, theatrical, international and Lionsgate United Kingdom operations.

The company announced revenue of $2.71 billion for the fiscal year 2013 that ended on 31st March. This represents a jump of 71 percent, as compared to $1.59 billion during the last year. For FY 2013, Lions Gate posted Adjusted EBITDA of $329.7 million, versus $71.6 million one year earlier.

Exxon Mobil Corporation (NYSE:XOM) shares slipped 1.76 percent, to $90.47, in the last trading session on Friday. The company recently announced that shareholders have added William C. Weldon as a new member to its board of directors.

Weldon, 64, previously worked as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Johnson & Johnson. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology in 1971 from Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. Exxon Mobil (XOM) is the biggest publicly traded international oil and gas firm that uses technology and innovation to help meet the growing energy needs of the world.
