As a general rule, insider buying shows management’s confidence in the company, and is considered a bullish sign—in other words a sign that stock prices are likely to go up. Conversely, insider selling is considered bearish—those in the know may be off loading their stocks in an expectation that prices will soon fall. Campbell Soup Company (NYSE:CPB) saw an insider sell on Mar 04, 2016 that may make shareholders worried. Carolan Edward, Senior Vice President, sold 5,000 shares at $61.93 a piece. The total sale came to $309,650, leaving the total count to 53,549 shares. Its shares currently owned by company management are 0.50% while institutional investors own about 43.90%. The 6-month change recorded in total insider ownership was -14.83%. On the other side, -0.17% change in total institutional ownership has been reported for the 3-month period.

Moving on to the second insider trade which involved LAUB STEVEN, a President & CEO at Atmel Corporation (NASDAQ:ATML) sold 1,145,865 shares at $8.10 per share to trim the total holding at 1,306,735 shares. Its shares currently owned by company management are 2.00% while institutional investors own about 83.00%. The 6-month change recorded in total insider ownership was -27.54%. On the other side, -1.57% change in total institutional ownership has been reported for the 3-month period.

Vantiv, Inc. (NYSE:VNTV) also received some insider trading action as STIEFLER JEFFREY E, who the company’s Director is sold some 2,271 shares at a price of $52.51 per share to the holding that now comprises of 4,554 shares. Its shares currently owned by company management are 0.60%. The 6-month change recorded in total insider ownership was -92.18%. On the other side, 4.60% change in total institutional ownership has been reported for the 3-month period.
